At 4:48 a.m. on August 4 (Sunday, JST), the H-ⅡB launch vehicle with the “KOUNOTORI4” (a cargo transporter to the ISS) was successfully launched from the Tanegashima Space Center (Kagoshima Pref.).
The H-ⅡB is carrying 2 units of rocket onboard camera and PCE (Picture Compressor Equipment) developed and manufactured by Meisei Electric for the monitoring from the launch up to the ISS.
In addition, 4K camera system, IP-PCDU (ICS-PM Power Control and Distribution Unit) and JCAP (JEM Cabin Access Point) to be carried to the ISS-JEM (International Space Station, Japanese Experiment Module) “KIBO” by “KOUNOTORI4” are developed and manufactured by Meisei Electric respectively.
The 4K camera system is the world's first imager of super high sensitive 4K picture consisting of 4K camera (high resolution with 4 times of pixel numbers than current high vision and 8 times of super high sensitivity than conventional type), recorder, monitor and converter. It will catch “Comet ISON” from the ISS, which near towards the earth in December.
