First, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the COVID-19 victims and their families, and also express our sympathy to those affected by the novel coronavirus and pray for their speedy recovery. We would also like to express gratitude and respect to all medical staff who works tirelessly in diagnosis and treatment during this crisis.

MEISEI corporate philosophy is “We will contribute to develop safe and secure society, creating innovative products and services by full use of our original "SENSING & COMMUNICATION" technology.” As a commitment to our philosophy, we are aiming to contribute to the development of an equal and sustainable society by providing disaster early warning systems and measuring and communication systems in the space environment using our “Sensing & Communication” technology to our valued customers.

Our company started in 1938 as a radiosonde manufacturer. We have since developed and manufactured highly accurate and highly reliable weather, earthquake, water level, and many other observation systems, as well as supporting our customers involved in disaster monitoring and mitigation. Furthermore, since the beginning of space development in Japan, we have manufactured and developed equipment that could reliably observe, photograph, and communicate under harsh space environment, and provided it to researchers and people in space industries.

Recently, the importance of research that collects data of unusual weather phenomena and improves disaster prediction has increased along with the increase in the intensity of disasters caused by climate change, such as typhoons, torrential rains, gusts, floods, and landslides. Moreover, environmental pollution data, such as air pollutant concentrations, is now actively being monitored to ensure the realization of a sustainable society. These are issues that are facing not only Japan but also the world. It is our goal to propose solutions such as delivering systems for collecting weather data to society and widely distributing weather data and information to everyone, using our accumulated technology.

We are now in an era where we can create weather forecasts, monitor forest fires, and even watch over people from space. Our sensors and cameras can collect, and then record or transmit highly accurate data and images even in the hostile environment of space. These data and images are used to solve global environmental problems and realize humanity’s long-cherished dream of unraveling the mysteries of the universe.

Even during this global COVID-19 crisis, we are committed to protecting the lives and assets of people around the world from various natural disasters by providing highly accurate and highly reliable weather observation systems and delivering essential weather information. We will also continue to provide space-related instruments to contribute to the success of various space missions, utilize “Sensing & Communication” from the space for the future of humankind, and strive to improve our technological capabilities.
